Frederick A. Johnson


Fred has been serving businesses, business owners, and professionals in the areas of financial services and executive benefits since 1969. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1965 and attended graduate school at the Baruch School of Business at the College of the City of New York (CCNY). After serving three years as an officer in the U.S. Army, he joined The Prudential Insurance Company of America where he led The Prudential nationally in employee benefit sales, and served as Vice President of Marketing. He earned his Chartered Life Underwriter Designation in 1972. In 1983, Fred joined Keenan & Associates, the largest privately held consulting, administration, and insurance brokerage firm in California. While at Keenan & Associates, the firm grew over 500 percent. In 1992, Fred resigned as President of Keenan & Associates and joined American Benefit Institute (ABI). ABI specializes in leading edge planning techniques delivered through CPAs, law firms, and financial Advisers. In 1997, Fred founded Sequoia Capital Consulting, Inc., a national firm that provides resources to other professionals in the wealth-planning field, with special emphasis on creative but conservative techniques designed to minimize taxes, transfer of wealth and maximize asset protection. Fred and Paul Klass founded Total Planning Concepts, LLC in 2004, serving high net worth clients, closely held business owners and members of the health professions in California, with special emphasis on the San Francisco Bay region. Fred has been a featured speaker to CPA and attorney organizations throughout the United States.
